Different is not wrong

She lives with a rare disability and sometimes uses a crutch or wheelchair. Friends mocked her disability, mental health, dyslexia, dyspraxia and autism. Instead of recognising her difficulties, they called her attention seeking and a liar, and used an ableist insult against her.

She wishes they had seen someone living with physical and emotional pain, trying to get through each day, rather than treating her needs as a performance.

Writing and theatre are parts of her life beyond those judgements. What she wants people to leave knowing is simple: “I am only human.”
