Before You Take Part

Firstly, thank you.

Sharing your story takes courage, and I don't take that trust lightly. Before I begin creating your portrait, I just need to make sure we're both clear on how Villains works.

By submitting your story and photographs, you confirm that:

• You have permission to share any photographs you upload.

• You give me permission to create original artwork inspired by your image and story.

• You understand that your portrait may be altered, obscured or transformed as part of the artistic process.

• You understand that your artwork may be exhibited publicly, photographed, published online and used in promotional materials relating to Villains.

• You understand that elements of your story may be incorporated into the artwork and accompanying written or spoken content.

• You understand that Villains may generate income through exhibitions, print sales, publications, funding applications, media coverage, newsletters, websites or other related activity.

• You understand that I retain ownership and copyright of the original artwork and all associated intellectual property.

• If your portrait is completed as part of the project, you will receive a complimentary print of both the original portrait and the final reclaimed artwork.

• You can choose whether your full name, first name only, a pseudonym or complete anonymity is used alongside your story.

• Participation is entirely voluntary. You may ask to withdraw from the project at any point.
